The situation with Todd O’Brien shows the hypocrisy of schools protesting multi-year scholarships. The student is bound to the institution even beyond the expected till death (graduation) do us part, while the institutions continue to holler “We want pre-nup!” The school only needs to honor its commitment a year at a time, while the student has to get a release at the whim of the coach.
